Our Story - Two people. Two lenses. One shared belief.
In 1975, my father, Jaidev, started a small leather workshop in Kolkata with two artisans and an uncompromising eye for quality. Five decades later, that studio had grown into one of the city’s most respected manufacturing facilities, trusted by global brands, built on the belief that a well-made product is a sustainable one.
My path looked very different. After 18 years in HR leadership, I made a mid-career pivot in 2020, driven by a growing discomfort with climate change and one persistent question: how do we drive climate action through conscious consumption?
That question led me to the world of alternative materials, and to founding Beej, India’s first premium plant-based accessories brand. From the outside, our businesses looked like opposites. The truth was more nuanced.
For him, sustainability meant durability. For me, it meant material choices and carbon impact. We were looking at the same problem through different lenses. We were deeply aligned on values. What was missing was integration.
Clima Collective was built at that intersection: materials expertise, design capability, and manufacturing rigour in one place, so brands can build responsibly without having to navigate it all alone.
